The Dongyin Island is located in the northern part of the Taiwan Strait in Fujian Province of the Republic of China (Taiwan), to the northeast of Fuzhou City. It is part of the Matsu Islands archipelago under ruled by Taiwan, a partially recognised state in East Asia. The Dongyin Island consists of two separate islands- Dongyin island and Siyin island, which are connected by an embankment. The town of Dongyin is only inhabited locality on Dongyin Island.
